Is the situation life-threatening?
Call 112
Examples of life-threatening situations include:
- acute shortness of breath;
- severe bleeding;
- heart attack;
- loss of consciousness;
- a serious accident.
Is the situation urgent, but not life-threatening?
- During office hours: call your general practitioner (GP)
- Outside of office hours or in the weekend: call the GP out-of-hours service on 070 346 96 69
What is an urgent situation?
An urgent situation concerns injuries or complaints that cannot wait until a consultation with your GP.
Your visit to the Accidents & Emergency Department (A&E)
Only go to the A&E (SEH in Dutch) once your GP or 112 has referred you. The A&E is only located at HMC Westeinde.

Your visit to the GP out-of-hours service
Only visit the GP out-of-hours service after making an appointment by phone. The assistant will determine which location can provide the most suitable care and will make an appointment for you with the on-call doctor there.
There is a GP out-of-hours service at HMC Westeinde and HMC Antoniushove.
